
5/27/2022: Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie races Friday May 27th Race 1 starts off Memorial Day Weekend with an open Allowance. Purse $33,000 plus up to $6,600 for Texas Bred. This field of 9 has one Texas Bred, Capt. St. Jacques an Allowance Race Winner with career earnings of $75,521. Owned and bred by Richard P. Chandler. The 5-year-old gelding is by My Golden Song out of Avis E by North Light (IRE) see Pedigree Here. The lone Texas bred will be facing 5 Kentucky Breds, 2 Okies and a New York bred. With a 5/1 morning line. Capt St Jacques could be a good one in race one with very competitive speed figure at 5 furlongs and the best speed figure at Lone Star Park. Good Luck to the Texas Bred as he competes in open company.
Race 3 is an Open Allowance for 3-year-olds and up, One Mile on the dirt. Purse is $33,000 and up to $6,600 for ATB. 5 out of the 10-horse field is Kentucky Bred, 3 Louisiana Bred, 1 California Bred and 1 Tecas Bred. The sole Texas Bred is Dust Em by Too Much Bling out of Dixie Dust by Dixie Land Heat. Pedigree Here Dust Em ranks 2nd in total earnings, 3rd in earnings per start, 4th in E Speed Figure, 3rd in E speed figure at one mile distance, 4th in E Speed Figure at Lone Star Race Park. A morning line of 6/1 seems reasonable. As a Texas breeder I will be pulling for Dust Em to leave them in the dust and pace at least top 3.
Race 4 is a Maiden Special Weight for Accredited Texas Breds 3-year-olds and up, 6 furlongs on the dirt. Purse is $33,000 and up to $1,650 for ATB. 8 accredited Texas breds make out the field. Eagle Cat the Asmussen family bred, owned and trained is the least experienced in the field but the most improved of the 8 Texas Breds. With Stewart Elliot aboard I think the most likely to break her maiden in Race 4.
Race 5 is an Allowance for Accredited Texas Breds 3-year-olds and up, One Mile on the dirt. Purse is $39,000 and up to $1,950 for ATB. 5 accredited Texas breds, all geldings ages 4-6 years old make out the field. Got some stakes horses in this Allowance Race. Should be a good one. Kenai Bob bred by Eureka Thoroughbred Farms and owned by Michael Grossman of Eureka TB Farm Pedigree Here Top 3 finisher in 21 of his 31 starts in tough company. I look for a good race from Kenai Bob. Gold Pilot warrants equal praise. 18 starts top 3 finisher 12 times earning $242,307. Great Return for Owners Larry Hirsch and Wayne Sanders whom purched Gold Pilot for $15,000 in the 2018 TTA Yearling Sale.
Race 7 is an Accredited Texas Bred Allowance for Fillies and Mares 3-year-olds and up, 6 Furlongs on the dirt. Purse is $34,500 and up to $1,725 for ATB. A 7-horse field of Texas. Lots of experience in this allowance race. Only Texas Ascot Queen comes in with less than 10 starts. However she is leading in win percentage with 43% of her starts resulting in first to the wire. Highest money earner in the field is Its My Money with $143,637. Most earning per start is Stakes Winner Happy Sailor with $10,585. This will be a good ole fashion horse race with all horse very comparable in E Speed Figures and past performances.
Race 8 is an Open Maiden Special Weight Fillies and Mares 3-year-olds and up, 5 furlongs on the Turf. Purse is $33,000 and up to $6,600 for Open ATB. 11horses make out the field. Esperanza Rose is the lone Texas Bred entry. Sired by Too Much Bling and out of a Curlin Mare Hopelands Pedigree Here. Major experience differences with 2 horses making their first starts Avarie and All Aflutter while Reliant has 9 starts and Good Liquor has 11 starts. Reliant has the most earnings at $41,479 with 6 second place finishes. Top 3 finishes in 7 out of 9 starts.

5/27/2022: Race 2 is a $5,000 Claimer for Maiden Fillies and Mares, 6-1/2 Furlongs Purse $11,000 plus up to $2,200 for ATB. A 7-horse field of 6 Kentucky Breds and 1 Florida Bred from ages 3-6. This is a soft field in that only Nellie Dee has a 2nd place finish and that was October of 2018 at Remington Park. Only Nellie Dee has won more than the claiming price of $5,000. She has won $26,415 in 17 starts over 3 years. This is her first race in nearly a year, has been 320 days since her last start. A combined total of 48 starts from the 7-horse field with 0 wins, 1 2nd and 7 3rd place finishes with 4 of those 3rds and the 2nd by Nellie Dee. Combined Total of $41,533 earnings is an average of $865.27 per start from the 7 field of maiden claimers. However, one of these 7 horses will win the race and get a get a winner’s circle picture. Experience of various levels in this race. Sgt Quincannon making his first start. Cross Timbers is making his 2nd start coming off a 2nd place finish in his first and only start.
